Covid-19 Counselling support
As part of our ongoing efforts to bring sustainable positive impact to those we serve, The Lily Foundation for Human Development, with support from the British High Commission to Trinidad and Tobago, has offered private individual counselling and therapy sessions to individuals across Tobago.
This counselling support became especially necessary given the particularly harsh adverse effects that the Covid-19 Pandemic has caused in a micro space like Tobago, which also struggles with an underdeveloped economy despite being part of the twin island republic that is Trinidad and Tobago.
The counselling support proved to be timely and much needed, this assessment based on feedback from both the practitioners and people engaged as clients. Further to that, it has also served to identify otherwise unnoticed and unaddressed high risk individuals, including teenagers and preteens, who were able to receive intervention at a critical time in their struggle.
Funding for this initiative is limited and as a result there are only a limited number of sessions that could have been offered to those who accessed the support. If you would like to assist with the continued support for those in need of additional counselling/therapy, please make a donation.

We Have Feelings Too! A short Video
We Have Feelings Too - Perspectives from Men and Boys is a short interview styled video which features the views of some men and boys in Tobago on issues surrounding Gender Based Abuse and Violence (GBA/V). The conversation around GBA/V has been centered mainly around the voices and expressions of women and girls. The Lily Foundation for Human Development in our efforts to combat violence against women and girls has been actively engaging men and boys in a solutions oriented manner. As a result of that continued engagement, we wanted to give a voice to men and boys by asking and allowing them to share their perspectives on the issue of violence and abuse honestly and openly. We hope that this short film, which was made possible with support from the Canadian High Commission in Trinidad and Tobago, Tobago Library Services, and the Massy Foundation, will encourage open dialogue in Tobago and places that similarly affected with a view to preventing future incidents of gender based abuse and violence.
